Other Recommended MCAT Resources
Looking for what other free resources many people in the community (including me!) have used to be successful on the MCAT? Find them on this page!
Please note that these resources are all in addition to my other free resources available to you through the Resources tab, such as cheat sheets, an equation sheet, content videos, and more!
Anki Decks
JackSparrow Anki Deck
A tried and tested content deck that I typically recommend people use for C/P and B/B sections.
Aidan’s Anki Deck
A pretty dense deck that is highly touted for it’s comprehensive coverage of B/B and P/S, but is recommended for people with a lot of time.
MCATalyst Structures to Know
My own Anki deck that only includes the structures and molecules you need to memorize or recognize for the MCAT.
MCATalyst Anki Decks in Progress:
Amino Acids
New Comprehensive P/S deck
Lab Techniques
MrPankow Anki Deck
One of the most famous Anki decks for a holistic review of P/S.
Amino Acid Quiz App
Technically not an Anki deck, I know, but a fantastic free app that makes memorizing the amino acids super easy.
MileDown/AnKing Anki Deck
The AnKing deck is an update and reorganization of the famous MileDown deck. This deck is not as in depth as the JackSparrow deck but is a very good place to start and will cover most bases!
Content Review Videos and Documents
The 86 Page P/S Document
A concise 86 page document outlining many of the important terms and topics for the MCAT for the P/S section.
Leah4sci (YouTube)
Amazing videos that explain various topics in the sciences needed for the MCAT.
Van Does Chemistry (YouTube)
Great for a good Physics review.
Khan Academy (YouTube)
Videos sanctioned by the AAMC to provide free content review for the sciences on the MCAT.
JackWestin Textbooks (Free!)
Released on 5/14/2025, JW has put out another banger resource, providing a free series of textbooks for you to use in content review.
MedSchoolCoach (YouTube)
Quicker videos that explain many of the big topics in the sciences, including P/S.
Science Simplified (YouTube)
Highly recommended by students for Biochemistry videos, but also covers C/P.
Organic Chem Tutor (YouTube)
An amazing channel for explaining the difficult concepts for MCAT general and organic chemistry .
MCATalyst (YouTube)
Unfortunately I do feel the need to plug my own channel here… Hope you enjoy my content videos!
Shemmassian (YouTube)
Videos that mainly prioritize different passage strategies for the MCAT (including CARS!).
Free Practice Materials
JackWestin
The amazing people over at JackWestin have been pumping out tons of free CARS practice over the years. They are mainly know for CARS practice but do have practice for the other subjects as well in case you run out of practice from your other sources.
Khan Academy
Have recently updated their website to add new and improved practice passages for all of the subjects. For the most part, it’s generally on the easier side compared to the “real deal” but is still good practice that is free.
Other Free Exams
Many of the big MCAT prep companies will allow you to either take a half or full-length exam for free if you make an account with them. If you need more practice I recommend BluePrint, Altius, or The Princeton Review.
AAMC Free Practice Exams
While most of the stuff released by the AAMC is hidden behind a paywall, you can access to full-length exams for free through their website.
Paid Practice Materials
AAMC MCAT Prep Materials
Because they are the exam maker, if you’re going to spend money prepping for the MCAT, this is the place to start. I highly recommend trying to do every problem the AAMC has produced, especially the full-length exams as well as the Section Banks.
Price: $365 for 1 year (often on “sale” for around $300)
UWorld Question Bank
A giant bank of 3000 questions with extremely good practice for the MCAT. You don’t have to do every problem, but most people try to get through as many of the science-based practice problems as they can either while doing content-review or shortly thereafter. I recommend doing JackWestin CARS (if you need more practice than the AAMC provides) before UWorld.
Price: $329 for 90 days (comes with free trial)
