Find an MCAT Tutor
The MCATalyst Promise
Why you should pick us!
-
The tutors you’ll find through MCATalyst have no obligation at all to direct you to a specific resource, whether it’s paid or unpaid. You’ll be getting honest answers and advice from tutors that have been verified!
-
One of the things that always frustrated me about many of the tutoring services I was interested in utilizing when I was taking the MCAT is that they required you to sign up for a package of tutoring sessions, often for a very high hourly rate.
While some tutors do provide discounts for buying a package of tutoring sessions, all offer an hourly rate so that you can sign up whenever you want, how often you want (with discretion given to the tutor).
Because it’s a “come-and-go as you please” system, this not only removes any pressure on your end to make any long term commitments, but also ensures that your tutors are always giving you their best effort.
-
Want to meet your tutor before starting to pay for tutoring sessions? Not a problem! Most of our tutors will be offering either a free or reduced cost consultation where you can meet them, ask them questions, and gauge whether or not it’s a good fit.
-
There’s no required rate to tutor on MCATalyst, which allows tutors and their students financial freedom to find a rate that works for them.
Additionally, many larger companies (or non-MCAT specific tutoring services) and websites have very high overhead fees that come out of the paycheck of the tutor (which they have every right to do), where all tutors via MCATalyst have agreed to a significantly lower platform fee.
This allows the tutors to earn more while charging you less!
-
Surprisingly, there are a lot of MCAT tutoring services and companies that either do not require or do not verify the scores of their students. To ensure that you’re getting advice from experienced students, all tutors have had their scores verified!
How it works
-
In order to make sure that all tutors through MCATalyst are good people, with good intentions, and will do their best to help you reach your goal score, all tutors are interviewed to make sure their mission aligns with the intent of this website: making MCAT resources and information more widely and easily accessible.
Tutors will accumulate reviews as they tutor through my website, so you can see what other students have said about them!
-
All of their scores have been verified, their personalities have been vetted, and I think they’re all worth your time meeting!
-
Tutors are allowed to post their own rates and list their strengths so you can find someone you think will fit your needs the best.
-
While not required, most tutors are willing to offer a consultation (often for free!), a quick meeting where you can meet them, learn about them, ask them questions, and figure out if it’s a good fit or not before forking over a ton of money like many other companies require.
Thank you for choosing independent tutors! By picking an independently contracted tutor, you’re helping us be more honest with our advice while also helping us save money that is often taken in bulk by companies. It’s a win-win! You get better advice and more transparency from your tutors, and we get a better interface that is less restrictive and helps us retain more of our hourly rates.
